Another fantastic auction lot offered at a bargain price. you are bidding on a rather impressive , very large painting in good condition. I must admit my knowledge on the painting is limited and its not signed anywhere which does not help. the painting depicts the large group of ships trading in the harbour and the detail in the brushstrokes looks exceptional. there are lots of boats including the larger galleons and the smaller rowing boats. the painting also includes several people and some sea birds. it really is a very busy painting with so much to look at. add to this its sheer size and it will certainly capture the eye when on the wall. I have no idea of its age or history? if you look at the flags they are Dutch and there is also a windmill on the horizon so the painting may well have Dutch interest? the large gilt frame measures 47" x 24" and the drinks can helps show its huge size.
due to its size it will be posted with parcel force (£10.99) or you could collect in person.
