Not Your Father's Spider-Woman!!!

This Jessica Drew is ruthless and stronger than she was in the 1980's comics version. Oh my God! She throws an anchor around the tail of a helicopter and pulls it down like Superman would (Albeit With Strenuous Difficulty). Drew is haunted by her past and by the end of the film confronts that past with a long-lost family member. Indeed, she discovers she has an extended family herself.
But Spiderwoman is ruthless! She slays a group of men fleeing from the yacht she was assigned to protect, she pulls down a helicopter, killing most if not all of its crew, and she gouges the eye out of one of the kidnappers as he begs for mercy. Ironically, things will only get worse in the next book as she engages on a tyrannical rampage that few people can stop or contain.
Despite my gripes, I like that Spiderwoman is back and seeing her kick butt brings me back to my roots as a kid. Buy this graphic novel. Four Stars. I'm the 95th person to review this great graphic novel.
