Offered here is this Antique Caswell-Runyan Cedar Chest. The chest is in good condition, and still has the original labeling inside the lid. The locking mechanism on this chest has been disabled for safety. It has the original branding. It does have the original tray, as well as one main, large compartment. It has lovely carved applyed detail on the front, and the original hardware is intact. It does have some light surface scratches and wear from general use, but no major damage or gouges. The top has a lot of water stains on it, and the finish is a bit faded in this area as well. It is footed and sits on slight cabriole curved feet. It has beautiful grain and was manufactured by a trusted furniture manufacturer. It was made by the Caswell-Runyan Company in Huntington Indiana. The chest is 19.5” tall, 44.5” long, 19.5” wide, and 10.75” deep when the lid is open. It is made to lock, however, there is not a key with it and the lock is disabled. It is a beautiful cedar chest, a must have for clothing, or blanket and quilt storage. It makes a beautiful piece of furniture as well.
