The saṅghāti" is an outer robe worn by Buddhist monks, particularly in Theravada traditions. Alongside the lower robe (antaravāsa) and the upper robe (uttarāsaṅga).
Made of cotton or silk, the saṅghāti is a large rectangular piece of cloth worn draped over the shoulder and wrapped around the body.
The robe's double layers offer insulation against the elements, ensuring warmth during chilly weather and shielding from the sun's heat in hot climates.
