Metro 2033 takes a different tack from all of the movie-to-game tie-ins by actually being a book-to-game tie-in instead. Now, you might think that's no different, but it really is. The only visual cues developers have to go on is the imagination of the reader, and the mind of the author. Luckily, Kiev-based studio 4A has Russian writer Dmitry Glukhovsky to help make Metro 2033 a visual reality, coupled with the developer's talent for generating some fantastic graphics out of a PC setup. Dmitry Glukhovsky's urban tale takes place in a post-apocalyptic Moscow, where the capital's Metro train line becomes the only safe haven for humanity.
