A Dunham's Motorised Daredevil 500 bought for me back in 1978. The play set includes over 9 feet of track and 3 stunt cars, all of which are marked 'Made in Hong Kong' on their bases.
Features include a 'New Mystery Whip Action', amazing sound, loop-the-loop, a flaming hoop jump, a lane changer and a car release chute.
The toy allows for continuous action or individual car control operated by a manual lane changer, which directs cars back to either the release chute or directly through the start tunnel.
The play set is complete, boxed and working as well as it did back in 1978! The motor can be a little temperamental, but a light tap on the battery box after the lever is set to on gets it running every time and it will continue without interruption until your 2 x chunky D-Type batteries run out (batteries not included).
The card box and hoop flames do have some minor tape repairs, but nothing that detracts from the overall display and charm of the toy. There is also some writing on one side of the box; I was clearly learning how to count and write my name at the time!
Fragile, multi-piece toys like this are now very rare and seldom seen in working condition. Not only is this one complete and working, but it remains highly entertaining and somewhat addictive to play with.
