According to the weathering of the material and the typology of the tool, this piece seems to date back to the first half of the Mousterian period. 

Tool: very nice Mousterian circular Scraper knife on nucleus / core, made by our ancestor Neanderthal. Marks of use and retouches clearly visible on the active sharp part. 

Material: chalcedony + patina + cortex 

Dimensions: 7,1 x 6,2 x 3,5 cm

Weight: 175,44g

Origin: south of Bergerac, Dordogne, France. The exact location will be provided to the buyer in the provenance statement.

This very nice piece is from an ancient collection. It has been found before the 1960's.
