Here is one tests new FISHER branded (Made by Telefunken) 12AX7 tube.  It has the 17 mm smooth grey plates and top O shaped getter.This tube was made in West Germany and has the diamond on the bottom, I tested the tube on my Hickok 600 mutual conductance tube tester and it reads new at  (1600-1350) micromhos ,where (1250-1250) micromhos is the average reading of new 12AX7 tubes given on the roll chart. It has no shorts or gas.
