A Set of Three Wooden Boxes.

They are each different in size, which means they can nest within inside each other, be stacked on top of each other, or arranged in an alternative way.

I am not too sure which wood they are made from, but I would suggest that it is a hardwood.

I think they may have originally been darker in colour, and have been lightly stripped and waxed since.

They have rests at the back of each box, which allows the lids to stay open.

They have decorative gothic style metal latches, which I would suggest may be wrought iron. I am not sure whether they would have originally came with a padlock or similar item, in order to keep the latches locked.

Unfortunately I am not too sure what they were originally intended for, and I am also unsure of both their exact age and where they were made.

They appear to have some age to them, and are antique in style at least.

The smallest box measures approximately 16cm at it's widest point x 18cm at it's deepest point x 16cm high.

The medium sized box measures approximately 21cm at it's widest point x 23cm at it's deepest point x 18cm high.

The largest box measures approximately 29cm at it's widest point x 31cm at it's deepest point x 21cm high.

Please kindly review the listing photographs for their condition.

Please note one of the hinges on the largest box has been replaced at some point. This is currently preventing the lid from closing flush, as such the new hinge may need to be replaced by the buyer, or alternatively left as is.

Please note there is some damage to the back corner of the large box, on the opposite side of the hinge which was replaced. A small section of wood appears to have been glued back onto the box.

Any questions please kindly ask.

Please feel free to take a look at the other items I have listed.
