Hello, you are bidding on a rare antique circa 1840's mid 19th. c. dental surgery tooth elevator/extractor medical instrument. The tool has solid ebony handle. Specially designed handle for comfortable use. The instrument is with carbon steel lever. Similar examples shown in E.Bennion book for dental instruments. 

Excellent preserved instrument. Marked on the handle with embossed mark ''Billard'' and trade mark ''EB''. Found in Paris last month.
