First page only
First page cut out from the French magazine "Génie civil" from Saturday August 8, 1908.
“Civil Engineering” is a weekly review of French and foreign industries. The incredible aesthetic of these first pages make them a common decor element for a loft or industrial type decoration: Indeed, on a single sheet you will have visual elements from the beginning of the 20th century oriented towards industry, invention and mechanics, as well as a strong link with the history of these technological revolutions presented in the main illustration ( engraving or photo). To be framed for maximum shine! We have other elements of this type in stock on several themes (Aviation, militaria, Marine, locomotion, etc.), consult our other announcements, or contact us.
The illustration on this page represents: Compound locomotive, A. Mallet system, of the Central Railway of Brazil. The locomotive shown in this illustration is a complex model designed by Anatole Mallet and used by the Brazilian Central Railway in the early 20th century. These machines were renowned for their ability to tow heavy trains thanks to their multiple drive axles, allowing better weight distribution and therefore optimal grip on the often difficult railway tracks of Latin America. The Mallet system played a key role in the development of railways, particularly in terms of efficiency and economy in steam traction. This historical illustration thus offers not only a technical overview but also a window on industrial advances and the evolution of steam transport at the turn of the century.
