Kodak Signal Corps US Army 16mm Movie Camera PH 431 with Extra Lenses in Travel Case. I purchased this fascinating camera and kit from the estate of a prominent camera collector who passed away recently. As you can see in the photos, there are two pieces of paper that claim it to be Ernie Pyle’s camera. I cannot substantiate this claim. Perhaps with some research, it could be proven. I suppose that it could be somehow possible if one were to research the order number and serial number, plus the travel stickers on the case. The ultimate thing would be to find a photo of him with this camera or case! Antiques Roadshow anyone? This camera does wind and run but I have not film tested it, so I’m selling it As Is / Not Working and with no guarantee that it was Ernie Pyle’s camera. The Kodachrome 25 film that is in the box is later (from the 1970s) so I assume that the camera collector used this camera or planned to use it. *Please note: the small leather pull piece which helps to unbutton the middle section of the travel case broke off after I photographed it. The leather piece will still be included. Please take a good look at the photos to better determine the condition for yourself. Please send me any questions that you may have.
