Very old and rare hand carved wood sailboat featuring the Owl and the Pussycat. Hand carved in England. It is well made and weighs about 2.5 lbs. The main sail is hand sewn fabric and can be taken down. The blue sail on top is also fabric The rudder moves a little and the guitar around the owl also moves. I love the green color of the boat. So charming! It sits on a stand and makes a wonderful display, conversation piece for lovers of poetry, sailboats and days gone by.
The wood piece on the top of the sail has a hole that you put into a free moving ring with a little point that fits in the hole to keep it up. You can raise and lower it this way. It is about 16" tall including the tall mast. About 11" long including the rudder. The stand is 9"x6" and .5" thick.
Condition flaws. It is dusty and the sail is stained. One string on the sail has snapped free. There is a crack on the back near the rudder. Otherwise natural age and patina with little imperfections as part of its charm. :)
