Presented is a 1902 Liberty Head five cent coin that would grade an overall FINE, displaying a very legible LIBERTY (I complete but weak) in Miss Liberty’s crown and some hair detail.  The reverse indicates a grease-filled die was used as, at the 1:30-2:00 o’clock rim position, the letter O of OF is a shadow with F and A(merica) obliterated.  The same condition exists at the 7 o’clock rim position as the dot and letter C(ents) are non-existent (hence the No Cents coin) and the adjacent rim is thinner.  Additionally, the tip of the right wreath, through the left leg of the V and through the lower left wreath adjacent to the ribbon bow, shows a flatness and loss of detail indicting a film of grease was present on the die when the coin was struck.  Ground Advantage tracking mailing fee is $4.00.  Payment must be received within 3 days of auction closing.  Thank you for viewing this item.
