Full leather binding, gilt titles, raised gilt bands, gilt dentelles, gilt filet decoration to the boards, initials E.M.B. to the front board, marbled paste downs and end papers.   

Pagination: xxiii, 406pp.

Provenance – gilt initials E. M. B. to the front board.

Approximately 7 ½ inches tall (19cm).

• Spine – good condition – faded, gilt titles and gilt decoration, five gilt raised bands, marked, worn and rubbed.
• Joints – good condition – sound.
• Corners – good condition – gently bumped and worn.
• Boards – good condition – unevenly faded, full leather boards with elaborate gilt filet, marked and worn, gilt initials E. M. B. to the front board.
• Page edges – good condition – top edges darkened, all gilt.
• See above and photos.

Internally

• Hinges – good condition – sound.
• Paste downs – good condition – yellow, inner gilt dentelles.
• End papers – good condition – yellow, subsequently tanned with minor foxing.
• Title – good condition – tanned with some foxing.
• Pages – good condition – tanned, some foxing.
• Binding – good condition – attractive.
