TWO VOLUMES in a fine full leather binding. Gilt titles and volume numbers, gilt decoration to the compartments and gilt initials E. M. B. to the front boards, gilt page edges, yellow end papers, gilt lined boards and inner gilt dentelles.

Provenance: gilt initials E. M. B. to the front boards.

Approximately 6 ¾ (17.3cm) inches tall.

• Spine – good condition – gilt titles and gilt decoration, five gilt raised bands, worn and rubbed.
• Joints – good condition – sound.
• Corners – good condition – gently bumped and worn.
• Boards – good condition – full leather boards with elaborate gilt filet, gently marked and worn, gilt initials to the front.
• Page edges – good condition – top edges darkened, all gilt.

Internally

• Hinges – good condition – sound.
• Paste downs – good condition – yellow, inner gilt dentelles.
• End papers – good condition – yellow, subsequently tanned with minor foxing.
• Title – good condition – tanned with some foxing.
• Pages – good condition – tanned, some foxing.
