Reggie Jackson New York Yankees 1980 Original Type 1 Photo

Fantastic original, vintage 1980 Type 1 photograph measures 6 1/2" x 10" and pictures New York Yankees Reggie Jackson.

Although Jackson's stint with the Yankees was only a short five years, 1977 through 1981, his impact during those years makes his turn as a Yankee somehow seem longer. He helped the Yankees get to three World Series during those five years, when the Bronx Bombers wont back-to-back Championships in his first year 1977, and again in 1978. And what a Bronx Bomber he was in 1977! He had a great first season in pinstripes, hitting 32 home runs, with 150 hits (including 39 doubles), 93 RBIs, and scored 93 runs.

But it was that first World Series in 1977 that he became Mr. October. After a 15-year drought as World Series Champs, Jackson hit 5 Homers, had 8 RBI's, scored 10 runs, batted .450 and had an astronomical slugging percentage of 1.250. He was also the 1977 World Series MVP. One could argue that he helped bridged the gap between two of the Great Yankees, Mickey Mantle and Derek Jeter.

This photo is in nice overall condition, with some creases and small marks. There is a photographer stamp on the back as well as two date stamps - the earliest of which is dated JUN 28 1980. 5.00 shipping in the USA.
