This is the Mobile Fidelity 1/2 speed audiophile pressing of this greatest Beatles album of all time, IMO. 

Mastered directly from the original analog master tapes in the early '80's.

This copy was pressed from early stampers - A3, B4, C4, & D2.

This MFSL pressing has fabulous sound - **MUCH** better than either the 2012 EMI pressing or the new remix, IMO.

A visual-only grade for this record is meaningless. There are many quiet passages which are often quite noisy because if you owned this record, you played it...A LOT!

** These discs have been cleaned on the VPI 16.5 vacuum record cleaning system and completely PLAY-GRADED start to finish. (And it was a pleasure to do so.)

 Album grading is cover/record). Cover is VG+. It is a little non-white and has a small water stain on the back cover (see photo) but seams are strong and intact. The white record labels are very clean.

side 1 - VG+ (a 5-groove repeating tick, among others)

side 2 - VG++

side 3 - VG++

side 4 - strong VG - Side 4 is definitely the noisiest side.

** As you realize, play-graded (and professionally cleaned) vinyl is a MUCH more reliable indicator of the disc quality than just visual inspection. A record could look absolutely beautiful yet be very noisy and/or have groove damage. I've bought many just like that myself! You can buy my discs with total confidence. These grooves are CLEAN!

Record grades:

NM near mint - like a new record - nearly silent - just a couple of light ticks

VG++ still very quiet - just a few more light ticks

VG+ a bit noisier - either more numerous ticks or a few louder ones.

Strong VG - while there are numerous ticks and pops, there is no groove damage. Disc is completely playable.
