RARE 1868 Victoria Sydney Mint Gold coin Sovereign.

A RARE OPPORTUNITY TO BUY SUCH AN EARLY DATE SOVEREIGN.

Sydney Mint in Australia 1866 is a rare Date Sovereign of this series.
 This coin has a unique portrait of the Queen seen on no other British colonial coinage.
The reverse states  SYDNEY MINT.
This type Sovereign which was minted between 1857 and 1870, is known as the "Type II".
In 1871, Imperial Sovereigns with Shield and St. George reverses were introduced.

The “Sydney Mint” Sovereign is the only Sovereign type The Royal Mint allowed a mint branch
to produce a Sovereign of a different design than its own.  
The “Sydney Mint” Sovereign also contain silver instead of the
