A rare original broadside concerning the destruction of property by American soldiers of the rifle regiment, under the command of Lieutenant Joseph Calhoun. Sarah Shillito had rented her house to Calhoun for quartering of soldiers in the winter of 1813. The house, however, was destroyed by fire and Shillito is asking for $350, the appraised value of the property.
