- Unlike at your comic book store, newsstand books were handled uncaringly by the general public. Books were Destroyed by the Dreaded Spinner Rack Spine Bend (SRSB) as kids bent books in half to see the ones behind the other ones!!!! Kids with snotty noses and sticky fingers Damaged books too!!!! This Heresy was happening at your local 7-11 and other locations! That's why newsstands are hard to come by in better conditions!
- I've provided a historical chart with estimates from industry leaders like Chuck from Mile High Comics concerning the distribution of Direct to comic stores vs Newsstands.
Newsstands were returned for credit if they didn't sell unlike direct versions so that fact lowers the % further. With Namor 1 ~15% of the print run were est. Newsstand. How many were sent back and then how many survived in high grade shape!???
