Very nice looking original mid 19th century "cerographic" (wax engraved) astronomical print lot.

Iconic images, a classic manner of popular celestial representation utterly unique to this era. Also a splendid use of black ink printing to highlight the image etched away in white. An almost folk-art look, a charming primitive style from 155 years ago.

Nice looking example, pleasing age patina, sheet displays a "look (patina)" different from modern copies due to the ink and type of paper used. The lot is old and looks it. Any minor age flaws easy to overlook or forgive, printing on reverse as always for this image and those issued with it.

Well worthy of display or gift giving.

Sheets measure c. 11 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W.

Printed wax-engraved areas measure c. 10" H x 8 1/4" W.
