The sculpture is a Chinese carved wooden sculpture of a figure, possibly an ancestor figure.  It has a cut out piece in the back for placement of wishes / prayers. The figure may have been placed on a family alter.  It measures about 7-1/2 inches tall.

The sculpture has some black and red paint remaining but much of the paint has worn off. Feel free to ask questions.
