Safe & Non-Toxic:

Our flower drying silica gels are CoCl2-free and go through a dust removal process to ensure safe and healthy use; The small lightweight beads are ideal to preserve flowers and petals with minimal to no discoloration and fading.

Color Indicating:

The sand contains orange humidity indicating crystals that will turn dark green when saturated, enabling you to easily identify when the silica gels need to be recharged or replaced.

Rechargeable:

The saturated silica gels can be reactivated and reused. Spread them in a shallow sheet and place them in a 120℃/ 250℉oven for 30-60 mins or until all green beads change back to orange.

Flower Preservation Supplies Needed:

Step1: Pour a layer of crystals about 1.5 inches thick into an air-tight container.

Step 2: Make sure flowers are dry. Trim flower stems & insert them upright into the silica gel. Flat-faced flowers can be placed face down or long flowers can be laid on their side.

Step 3: Gently add silica gel until all the petals are fully covered while keeping the flower shape intact.

Step 4: Seal the container and store it in a cool and dry place for 3-7 days. Note: Drying time will vary depending on the type of flower.

Step 5: Once dry, gently remove each flower and shake out silica gel crystals, brush off any remaining crystals with a soft brush.

Useful Tips:

  1. Our silica gel sand is non-toxic, but we recommend wearing a mask and using gloves when handling the product. As you pour the gel into the container, avoid inhaling any fine dust that may be released.
  2. White flowers may become beige when dry, while red flowers will be a little darker.
  3. Dried flowers fade quickly in sunlight or extreme heat, so be sure to keep them in cool areas away from windows.
