A very rare 650B chrome-plated grand touring lady's bike Rene Herse 1962.

URGENT: I should point out that the brake calipers are not Mafac calipers, but genuine brake calipers made by HERSE.

This elegant chrome-plated on copper bike is one of the top-of-the-line cyclotouring machines René Herse built. The frame is made to the perfection you would expect by such a master builder.

It features some typical Herse détails, such as the exquisite crankset, stem, brakes, rear and front pack. A dream bike !

Many considered René HERSE the best and most innovative of the constructeurs.

Specificity of the frame with its double parallel tubes (crosspieces) that stop at the tube under the seat, known as the English tube.

And if I take the measurement from the steering column axis (bushing) to the seatpost clamp axis, it's 54cm.

DESCRIPTION

A wonderful René Herse ladies mixte bicycle from 1962 extremely elegant and comfortable.

Stem clamp cap screws on and off perfectly, engraved with the owner's name and address.

For 650 tyres, the letter B indicates that the internal diameter of the tyre is 584 mm.

This bike is definetely a collectors need.

The frameset is in good condition, piting corrosion are present on the chrome. All bearings cleaned, greased and adjusted.

I guarantee that the frameset is free of structural damages. The frameset has no cracks and is not bent. Signs of wear marks in some places but overall stunning for a 62 year old bike. This bike is running perfect.
