Jeff Keate was a popular Sports cartoonist whose work appeared in "The Saturday Evening Post," "The Wall Street Journal" did cartoons for Esquire, Time, many more magazines.and other periodicals; he also wrote the Filbur McFudd cartoon series in 1937, wrote and illustrated the Rufus series in 1950-51, and had a syndicated sports panel in the 1950s and early '60s called "Time Out." Very well listed cartoon artist. He is listed in 100 Years of American Comic Strips, by Ron Goulart and "The Who's Who of American Comic Books", by Jerry Bails.
