Interesting and unusual high grade prooflike example of the 1945-S Micro S Mercury Dime.  This coin is graded PCGS MS65+PL (#40741214) and exhibits no question fully mirrored prooflike surfaces on both the obverse and reverse.  This coin must be one of the first off a new die in order to display the mirror finish.  The devices are well struck with clean fields.  There are no serious contact marks.

PCGS has graded only four '45-S micro S in any prooflike grade (1-64, 2-65+, & 1-66).  This coin is a little better than the other 45-S micro in MS65+PL.  How do I know?  I actually submitted both coins on the same PCGS submission form.  The other coin (#40741213) is also fully PL.  Comparing the two side-by-side one is drawn the featured coin as slightly better.    This coin has excellent eye appeal and looks better in hand than the cell phone photos.  CU price guide at $1250.  This coin belongs in a high grade PCGS MSPL Registry set of Mercury Dimes.
