The ES-137 Custom is an unusually versatile instrument, in a design that accomodates a wide range of volume levels without feedback. A fusion of classic styles, the ES-137 has the 16" width of the classic ES-175, with the slimmer body depth of the legendary Byrdland. The internal construction offers increased sustain and superior feedback resistance, with an internal sound block as found in the immortal ES-335. The twin '57 Classic pickups are built with the same wire, magnets and winders as the original late 50's PAFs.  Finally, the maple body echoes the coveted Les Paul Standard. and its hardware and solid ebony fingerboard, borrows some art-deco styling from the majestic Super 400.
This handsome example is in superb 100% original condition, and has smooth low action over medium jumbo fretwork. The sum of many parts, the ES-137 Custom remains one of the most versatile guitars Gibson ever produced, and suitable to all music types.
