Isamu Noguchi (November 17, 1904 - December 30, 1988) was a sculptor, landscape architect, garden designer, interior designer, and performing artist from Los Angeles, California, USA.
He was Japanese-American. His Japanese name was Isamu Noguchi.
In Japan, his "AKARI" series, which uses lanterns as interior lighting, was popular for a while.
Isamu Noguchi is said to have influenced the members of the avant-garde ceramics group Souryosha, which is currently holding an exhibition of his work.
