This is a large water pitcher made in the United States by Maddock Pottery Company at Lamberton Works near Trenton, NJ. It has a round shape, a capacity of 5 quarts, and is made of stoneware ceramic. The pitcher is decorated with a blue transfer floral pattern and an Art Nouveau with Baroque influence style, with a glazed finish. It is an original piece from the mid to late 19th century, weighing 4 lb 3 oz and measuring 11 1/2 in in height and 9 1/2 in in length. The pitcher can hold up to 20 cups of liquid and is perfect for all occasions. The pitcher has a pristine appearance.  However, on close inspection there is evidence that the handle was reattached at some point.  The top part of the repair is nearly invisible.  The bottom reattachment has a small chip on the outside.  This repair of the handle is shown in the last two photographs.  There is some crazing to the transparent top glaze.  The pitcher could be best used as a decorative vase.  It is quite heavy when full of water.
