 Up for sale is a Vintage “Amazing Stories” Pulp Magazine! This is the rare December 1947 issue, Volume 21 Number 12. This issue features The Green Man Returns by Harold M. Sherman, Light of Life by Chester S. Geier, Of Gods and Goats by Richard S. Shaver, and The World Beyond by Chester S. Geier (as by Guy Archette), as well as several other articles and features. These are all the original first printings of these science fiction novels, short stories, and novelettes in any publication. This is a large 178 page pulp magazine published by Ziff-Davis measuring about 9¾” x 7”. The magazine features a wonderful painted cover by pulp artist Robert Gibson Jones and several illustrations by Albert Magarian, Robert Gibson Jones, Robert Fuqua, J. Allen St. John, and Julian S. Krupa inside. As shown in the photos, the magazine is in very good condition for its age with some cover wear, creasing, and light soiling, including an initial on its front and a few small edge tears. There is a light water stain on the edge mostly visible on the cover and the first and last few pages. The paper is intact along the magazine’s spine, and the magazine is complete and remains well bound. Its interior pages are generally clean with no writing or creases, but there is a 1½” tear on the first page. The magazine does have a rough fore-edge with a few small edge tears as is typical for these old pulp magazines, and the paper has darkened a little with age. This rare vintage “Amazing Stories” science fiction pulp magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
