This is one of 8 flower/plant watercolors from one of Underwoods sketch books, this is the best of the lot in my humble opinion.

The sheet measures approx. 9" x 12", the artist's stamp is on the lower right side.

Very good condition. On high quality paper.

Stored flat - Ships Flat.

We have a large selection of Evelyn Notman Underwood original art from the 1910s through the 1940s.

Discover one of Western New York’s art treasures in the works of Evelyn Notman Underwood (1898 - 1983). This East Aurora based artist was an early 20th century Neo-Realist whose paintings, drawings and sketches hung showed in over 200 exhibitions from The Salon in Paris, the Albright Knox to the Lincoln Center’s Cork Gallery. A student of such notables as Charles Burchfield and Millard Sheets, Underwood was herself a teacher and renowned lecturer on wood-cut prints. She was a graduate of Pratt Institute and the Berkshire Summer School of Art. She studied at SUNY Buffalo and The Art Institute. Underwood’s work communicates both realism and conceptual impressionism and she is remembered as a superb colorist, luminist and draftsman.  All our Evelyn Notman Underwood pieces are original hand made pieces of art - no reproductions or copies, some of her early works are signed/initialed “EN” or “Evelyn Notman”, her maiden name.
