In the nostalgic world of vintage tractors, there are some whose names remain
immortal, they stand head and shoulders above the rest when the topic of
discussion turns to the history of mechanised agriculture.
The single cylinder Field Marshall evocatively portrayed in this outstanding study
by Ray Ayres, is one of those tractors. It attracts a large and faithful following among
farmers in Britain as a natural successor to the traction engine.
They were in production from 1945 to 1957 and were manufactured in Lincolnshire,
always in a dark Brunswick Green colour with the wheels finished in silver. Its main
distinguishing feature was the cigar shaped exhaust pipe and the mounting  of the
radiator core on the side.
This example is clean and tidy, free from damage, sorry no Cert, it is a
large figurine see "Item Specifics" above and very heavy, hence postage cost.
At this time I have a good collection of figurines listed on Ebay, they cover many
different areas of study and include a few other tractors. Please browse through
them and thanks for looking.
