Part of a huge collection of Victorian sheet music which I purchased recently. Do check my shop and auction listings and consider buying more than one to save shipping costs.

"Cribbage" was a comic song written and performed by the music hall star Fred Albert, which tells the story of a man who meets the love of his life over a game of cards - the lyrics liberally sprinkled with punning refences to cribbage. The 26cm by 34.7cm cover has a chromolithograph illustration of a cribbage board which incorporates the performer's name, and his face appears as the King of Hearts above. Albert died in 1886, so the sheet must have first been published between 1882 and that year. In superb condition with only a few minor marks and a split to the spine, it is  complete with all four pages of music. A great find for any collector of music hall sheet music or card game memorabilia.

*NB: This sheet was discovered in the archive of the publisher Edwin Ashdown, who traded under that name from 1882 onwards.  Note that the music was originally published by D'Alcorn, who appear to have sold their catalogue to Ashdown at some point, hence the overstamp.

Shipping:  Please take a look at the shipping options offered, which are based on my estimate of the selling price.  If an item sells for less than expected I may be able to reduce the shipping cost. Equally, if an item sells for considerably more than expected then you might wish to boost the insurance or the depth of packaging, which will increase the shipping cost.  I am always happy to combine items to reduce the shipping costs for you, but please note that when multiple items reach a high total value I may ask you to insure the package. If you want a service not stated, such as first class or surface mail, please ask for a quote. In all cases please discuss with me before making your payment. The maximum possible level of insurance on items sent overseas with Royal Mail is £250.  If the total value of contents exceeds this figure then you will have to accept the risk of sending the item(s), or choose an alternative courier.
