Carey, Matthew, ed., THE AMERICAN MUSEUM, OR, UNIVERSAL MAGAZINE Philadelphia: Mathew Carey, 1790. Volume VII, Numbers II-VI [February- June].  Lacking the month of January and the beginning pages of each of four appendices in regards to January.  February-June are present with all four appendices.  ¼ leather/paper hardcover w/paper label to spine, 8vo (8.875x5.5”), good/n. a, 61-344pp. + 4 partial appendices.  Binding appears nearly new, text apparently complete but lacking the aforementioned January installment, moderate amount of sophistication such as tissue paper hinge re-enforcement as well a number of tissue paper page repairs mostly noticeable in the last approx. 25% of the book (neatly done), small edge tears, rough edges, essentially five monthly installments bound into one.

Welcome to the nitty gritty world of 1790 with articles, and later funeral descriptions of Benjamin Franklin.  Dozens of articles by the leading people of the day, proceedings of congress, etc., etc., too many to mention.  Original signature of Rufus Barringer of Charlotte, NC laid in.  A marvelous slice of American and an incredibly riveting read - quite the sector of - Captured Tyme!
