 Up for sale is a Vintage “Hair Birthday Celebration” Playbill Magazine! On May 9, 1971, in the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine, New York City, the Holy Eucharist was celebrated on occasion of the Third Anniversary of the Broadway musical “Hair” The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical! This is a very rare Playbill from that event, featuring Galt MacDermot’s “Mass in F” sung by the choirs of St. Martin’s, Manhattan and St. Mary’s, Staten Island celebrating this anniversary. This vintage Playbill was published during the original Broadway run of the groundbreaking Gerome Ragni, James Rado and Galt MacDermot musical “Hair”, the classic rock musical about the hippie counter-culture and sexual revolution of the 1960s! As shown in the photos, this vintage Playbill is in very good condition for its age with some cover wear and light soiling, including a light central fold. The Playbill is complete and remains stapled from its cover to its centerfold. It has generally clean pages with no writing, rips, or tears. This rare vintage Broadway Playbill magazine would make a great addition to your collection!
