Limited edition, Royal Worcester, fine bone china, The Milkmaid.
The figurine The Milkmaid is from a collection known as Old Country Ways. It's beautiful, in a muted palette - spring colours of blues, peaches and creams - a touch on brown for her curly hair and the shoe, then green grass with a dab of yellow for the primroses. The milkmaid has a perfect complexion framed by the blue bonnet which matches her blue eyes (unusual for a brunette).
The milkmaid carries a pail of creamy milk and has given the kitten a bowl to drink from.
It's highly evocative and lovely to look at - she'd be a super gift or addition to a collection.
Comes with the original booklet, order form and pledge.

The collection belonged to my grandma who was a farmer and dairy owner back when the milk was delivered on horse and cart. In the winter they had a sledge to pull the milk! My mum is keeping the Rosie Picking Apples figurine as this was the first one she bought and I can remember the orchard at the farmhouse when I was a tiny girl.
