Le mémorial de Sardarapat est un symbole de fierté et de survie, le mémorial de Sardarapat marque le lieu de l'ultime effort réussi de l'Arménie pour sauver la nation de l'anéantissement aux mains des Turcs lors de la bataille de Sardarapat du 22 au 26 mai 1918. Contre d'énormes contre toute attente, et pendant la toile de fond obsédante du génocide au cours des dernières années, l'armée de fortune arménienne a repoussé les troupes turques et a sauvegardé la petite partie de l'Arménie historique, ce qui est devenu la république actuelle telle qu'elle se présente aujourd'hui. La bataille historique a non seulement stoppé l'avancée ottomane dans le reste de l'Arménie, mais a également empêché la destruction complète de la nation arménienne. Selon les mots de Christopher J. Walker, si les Arméniens avaient perdu cette bataille, "il est parfaitement possible que le mot Arménie n'ait désormais désigné qu'un terme géographique antique".

Sardarapat Memorial is a symbol of pride and survival, the Sardarapat Memorial marks the place of Armenia's successful last-ditch effort to save the nation from obliteration at the hands of the Turks in the Battle of Sardarapat on May 22–26, 1918. Against tremendous odds, and during the haunting backdrop of genocide during the previous few years, Armenia's makeshift army rebuffed the Turkish troops and safeguarded the small portion of historic Armenia, what became the current republic as it stands today. The historic battle not only halted the Ottoman advance into the rest of Armenia, but also prevented the complete destruction of the Armenian nation. In the words of Christopher J. Walker, had the Armenians lost this battle, "it is perfectly possible that the word Armenia would have henceforth denoted only an antique geographical term".
