Thank you for viewing this item.

I am a qualified Bicycle Mechanic with a passion for keeping older steel bikes on the road.

You are viewing a 1958 Carlton 5 speed Road Bike. Having reserched it, I belive it to be either a Clubman or Catalina.

I acquired this bike as part of a Job lot of bicycles, before my time with the bike it has been given a full rebuild including a frame respray. I would say this was completed in the past 5 years. The paint work has been nicely done , there are a few storage marks. She has had replacement transfers .

In my ownership the bike has been checked over fully , she was running a six speed Freewheel with a 5 speed Bendix derailluer, needless to say , that set up did not work well!! I have changed to a 5 speed freewheel , swapped out the bendix for a Cyclone and fitted a new chain, Gear cable and rear brake cable.

The original Bendix derailluer is avaialble should the new owner want it .

Having completed this work the bike is now really lovely to ride with everything working as it should .

This is what you are getting.

1. Lightweight steel 22 inch frame with cyclo drop outs

2. polished alloy 27” ( 630) rims

3. Sava Kranj ( Goodyear)630x25 white wall tyres.

4. Brooks copper rivet saddle
