Original, postcard-sized, medium format 3.25 x 5.5" film negative. Photographed at Milwaukee WI in 1928 by the documentary photographer Charles Medin. The Grand Staircase, which descends from the east side of the pavilion to the bottom of the bluff, was designed by Alfred C. Clas and completed in 1908.

Charles Medin was artist/photographer and then assistant editor of the Illinois Central Magazine, circa 1900s to 1949. His images are well-known to railfans as he documented railroads and city street scenes across the Eastern & Southern states.
