Vintage
E. ROLAND “Fall-stop1.8-2.2”
Drafting and Drawing Mechanical Pencil.
Made in East Germany during the 1960’s, this very nice looking pencil is
a spring activated clutch leadholder for 1.8 to 2.2 mm leads. However, it has a
slight “twist”: there is a proprietary friction mechanism in the barrel that
prevents the lead from dropping out of the barrel (“fall-stop”…) when pointed
down. Very interesting…… Lightly used
with no initials, gouges or similar. This classy pencil features a
beautiful wood barrel, very strong imprint
(not too common), shiny chrome nose, plated brass clutch, and a
plastic pushbutton with a built-in pointer. In a
very nice detail, the barrel’s facets blend very nicely into the facets of the
nose piece. Measuring 5 5/8” in length, it’s not often found in this great
condition, so get this very versatile and unusual beauty while you can……
