It takes the form of a Victorian little space heater which would have been used in a 19th century conservatory.

I believe that this old bank is quite a rare one made by Chamberlain & Hill.

It dates to the end of the 19th century about the early 1890s.

It is in good condition with no damages which is rare given that cast iron of this age can tend of be quite fragile and will break or crack if dropped.

The dark bronze effect japanning is still in pretty good condition, as you can see from my photographs, and the detailing is nice and crisp.

The bank has a flat nut at the bottom - and you can unscrew this to dismantle the bank - the base has holes and the registration number: 187026.

It is certainly finely cast with great detail - very aesthetic movement in style and decorated all around with foliage and birds to front and rear - the words BANK and slots also appear on the lid section.

Dimensions: Height is 6 1/2 inches. Width base section at widest is 4 inches.
