This is from my personal collection and has been sitting in a box in the attic since purchase.

A little about me (NOT the auction) - but only if you are interested

Marvel Comics were such a big part of my childhood. I remember first reading Marvel UK reprints, black and white in the day, and not believing how cool John Romita was the way he drew Spidey and his supporting cast. At nine I wondered how anyone could possibly do that so I started tracing the pictures and eventually (well, years later really) found that I could now call myself a comic book artist - though alas, not professionally.

In the early 90's I sent some of my scribbles to both Marvel and DC. They liked the samples I put forward and over the next few months sent quite a bit of try-out work as an artist and an inker (supplying me with the odd page of random script and photo-copies of pencil roughs). Both preferred my inking at that time and looking back I guess I can see why, my pencils were clean but a little lifeless - but, If I'd have been quicker I was politely told, I'd have probably made it. Unfortunately, I was too much a 20's party animal to conform and life got in the way after that so I now draw comics purely for pleasure. Gone are the India Ink pots, the brushes & lightbox - it's all digital now, so no smudges.

In the early 2000's I sold a vast amount of my collection here on Ebay UK, hence my feedback score, but I kept my favourites safe as nostalgia begged of me. Now though, its time to chip away at the remaining mortgage so all must go (the memories however will remain).

I hope there is something here that catches your eye and if you do take one or two, that you are pleased with your purchase.

 All the very best...Paul
