I AM NOT SELLING A KIT, only 2 new, full-size copies of my original PLAN + Air Trails article to scratch-build a 27" and a 36" Goldberg LIL RASCAL, all-balsa, UC or FF model airplane.

The model used a Baby Spitfire .045 or K & B Torp .049 because they both had attached fuel tanks. Today a Cox PEE WEE .02 is best---that's true if you make your models into an RC.

The 27" span wing, rudder, stabilizer and fuselage side patterns are clearly drawn on this restored PLAN. Competent scratch-builders will be able to make a firewall and fuselage bulkheads by the cut-and-try method using sheet cardboard to make your patterns.

Pop’s Pro Tip: “I made my firewalls slightly wider than the backplate mounting width of the 1/2A engine I planned to use. From that width and height I made as many bulkheads of the same width and varying heights back to the rearmost point of the wing trailing edge. Then I made the number of bulkheads needed from that point on back to the rear tip---tapering them in width as I went.”

“I'm admonished at times for "back-to-basics" explanations but, if there is a simpler model to scratch-build & enjoy flying, I don't know of it.”

As a BONUS I include a very nice bio of modeling legend Carl Goldberg, as well as a copy of RCM’s tribute to his life and work.

YOU ARE BUYING NICE, NEW, FULL-SIZE COPIES OF THE GOLDBERG LIL RASCAL PLAN IN TWO SIZES + ARTICLE TO BUILD BOTH A 27” & 36” MODEL PLANE. IT WILL COME FOLDED AND IN A MANILA ENVELOPE.

“When I was a teenager I built several Rascal 27s and Lil' Rascals, and powered them with Cox Babe Bee .049s. Lost them all to the prevailing winds. They all ended up at the nearby Kaiser Aluminum reduction mill and Security wouldn't let me thru' the gate to search for them. DARN!!! I'm eager to get started on the 36 incher! Best regards.  ~ Steve E. Spokane, WA
