US 3rd Army Officer's Uniform Group

Original small group of uniform items which belonged to an officer who served in both the US 7th Army and US 3rd Army during WW2, as follows:

Has 3rd Army patch and 5 overseas bars on left sleeve, 7th Army combat patch on right sleeve, and embr Captain rank insignia sewn on shoulders. All insignia is US mfg. One very small, barely noticeable, moth nip to right sleeve.

[2] Wool shirt, standard EM type with gas flap removed and material used to make shoulder epaulettes as can be seen. Has 3rd Army patch and 5 overseas bars on left sleeve. Size 15 x 32. Two very small moth nips to front which are covered when shirt is buttoned. No contract label present.

[3] Officer's short "doeskin" overcoat, 3/4 length mackinaw style featuring double breasted front with roll collar and button type waist belt, two large outer pockets with flaps, and reddish-brown silk type lining inside. Has 3rd Army patch and overseas bars on left sleeve and 7th Army combat patch on right. Not size marked or dated but is approx. size 38R. All buttons are intact and no moth damage.

[4] Liner for officer's field overcoat [trench coat], brownish-OD green blanket wool construction with reddish-brown silk type lining. Size 40S, dated 28 January 1943. All buttons intact and no moth damage.

All pieces have original owner's name written on laundry tags either sewn or stapled inside, and short overcoat has ink stamped laundry number as well, so there is a possibility for further research. Short overcoat has no moth damage whatsoever, which is highly unusual for this type of coat down here in Texas. Nice small group for your collection or for reenacting/living history use, in fine to excellent condition and one price gets all! Any questions please feel free to ask.
