Each photo is hand mounted and signed by the artist in pencil. Each print is mounted to one side of a very heavy paper stock that is 1/16 thick. Each page measures 9.75 X 8 inches. Each photograph varies in size around 5-6 inches at the most.

The following is from the artist.

"This collection of photographs was taken on a boat trip between Iquitos, Peru and Leticia, Columbia in 1993

The prints in this book are made with the same care and effort as I put into making large display prints. The prints were made on the best silver based fiber papers, archaically toned for performance and mounted on acid free paper. The prints were then hand bound into this book using the best archival materials available.

I traveled the river in a boat similar to the one seen in plate 1. in the wheel house there was no navigation aids such as compasses, only the memory and hopefully the good skills of the Captain and crew. The boat traveled both day and night and when the constantly shifting sands changed where they thought the river channels should be, the boat slowed and the depth was measured by a weight on a rope.

When the boat stopped, I would get off and explore the immediate area. The time allowed in each location was generally short, usually a couple of hours or so. The people were very friendly and eager to trade instant photographs for goods and photographs for myself. The river between  Iquitos, Peru and Leticia is mostly settled and there are homes, farms, or small settlements along the banks constantly."
