Selling this beautifully crafted authentic Chanel 2.55 single flap handbag in black with antiqued silver hardware. There is sometimes some confusion in the second hand market between reissue and 2.55 handbags and the key difference is that the 2.55 handbag is the original design and the reissue refers to a specific model released in 2005 to celebrate Chanel's 50th anniversary. Most people use the term Reissue and 2.55 interchangeably but only bags manufactured in 2005 are actually reissues.
The serial code inside the bag shows that the bag was released in 2012 therefore this is an original 2.55 handbag with the Mademoiselle lock and metal chain. The bag has been used and loved and I have tried to photograph all imperfections to ensure full transparency. I have listed it for sale for a price far lower than the others on the second hand market to reflect the wear and tear, particularly as the fabric has pulled apart slightly on the inside under the flap, which could easily be repaired by Chanel or a professional handbag spa.
