TINTIN AU TIBET WAS HERGE'S 18TH BOOK OF THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN.
BOTH THE FRENCH AND BELGIAN 1ST EDITIONS ARE MUCH SOUGHT AFTER
The French edition has the Dupondt wearing sailor caps with the mention REDOUTABLE. This First Belgian edition features in two locations the name INDIAN AIRLINES. Later editions, at Indian Airlines' request, do not.
The front cover of Tintin au TiBet was always fragile, due to the large amount of white snow. The snow on this copy does show a bit of yellowing/soil but overall the cover remains bright.

One of Hergé's most spectacular "vignettes" is featured here when Tintin sneezes "TCHANG" in the salon of the Hotel des Sommets, wreaking havoc on all other guests and sending coffee, cards and chess pieces flying, along with cigars, bowties, ink bottle, cigarettes and wine glasses. Memorable.

In real life, the Swiss Alps were Hergé's favorite vacation spot and, not unlike Tintin, he would climb mountains for hours on end and return to his first wife (Germaine) for cocktails and dinner.
