DENSMORE Nº5 YEAR 1904

Densmore Nº5 typewriter, manufactured in 1904 approx. by Densmore Typewriter Company, N.Y., USA.

The Densmore typewriters owe their design to Amos and Emmett Densmore, Barron Walter Wagner and Franz X., as early as 1891.

There aren't many Densmore typewriters on the market, making it a fairly rare collector's item.

It maintains the arrangement of the type bars under the carriage, so it is hidden writing and what we write is not seen until we lift the carriage. The type bars are placed forming a circle or basket commonly known as a "bird's nest". Another peculiarity is that the cart is removable.

Made of cast iron and enameled in black. It is an office model weighing approximately 15 kg. It keeps the decals with the model name in very good condition, both on the paper holder and in the center of the machine. The chrome parts are somewhat dirty, the most accessible parts could be cleaned and polished. It retains the wooden base and the original metal top.

The machine is in very good condition and works correctly.

Age: 1904 approx.

Condition: Very good
