USMC Khaki Cotton "Vandegrift" Jacket

Original late WW2 USMC enlisted summer tropical "Vandegrift" jacket [USMC's answer to the Army's Ike jacket], khaki cotton uniform twill construction featuring two plated chest pockets with covered button flaps, button front, pointed French cuff design, waist adjuster tabs, and embroidered grommets on upper lapels for attaching EGA collar insignia. Bevo type OD green woven on khaki twill Sergeant chevrons on both sleeves, no other insignia. Not size marked or dated but is typical small size, approx. size 34-36 Regular. Well marked inside with original owner's name and laundry number.

Light wash fading and one of the front buttons has been replaced, otherwise no holes, fraying, repairs, or other damage. Jacket continued to see limited use into the Korean War as well. Not as commonly seen [in my experience, anyway] as the wool version. Nice piece for any USMC uniform collection and is in fine condition. Any questions please feel free to ask.
